Get HLGI — Get back in control

What began for Paula Marie Jackson, since 1999, as an experiment in personal wellness after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is now being considered for further study as an integrative treatment for the debilitating symptoms of the disease. Jackson, a certified hypnotherapist, who worked full-time as a senior sales executive with a leading medical device company, has now, for the last 14 years, dedicated much of her time helping others with MS manage their disease. Healing Light Guided Imagery (HLGI) is Paula's novel approach to therapy that is now in the closing stages of its initial scientific study, conducted by UC San Diego researchers over the last four years. Preliminary results from the pilot study indicate that HLGI could play a key role in helping MS patients suffer less as their disease progresses.

Create new mental pathways to improve your quality of life

Acquire a guided imagery tool for life

One tool to manage multiple symptoms and conditions

It's been called integrated mindfulness by researchers

Paula is determined to share the benefits of HLGI with her fellow MS sufferers and individuals with other chronic and terminal conditions.

After 4.5 years, the pilot study now confirms that HLGI led to improvements in depressed mood, fatigue, and physical and mental quality of life as compared to a journaling intervention. HLGI led to a 75% decrease in depressed mood; a 25% decrease in fatigue; a 38% increase in physical quality of life; and a 30% increase in mental quality of life.

GUIDED IMAGERY THERAPY
A series of 10 guided imagery sessions delivered one per week for 10 consecutive weeks designed to program and activate pathways in the unconscious mind that improve one's ability to cope with the stress of life and better manage the comorbid symptoms of a large variety of conditions. The sessions are customized to each individual's symptom history and wellness goals. The first session is an interview to assess these needs and to design the personalized session module. The second session will kickstart the process and by the fourth or fifth session the individual should be adept with the process and will be equipped to practice it on their own as and when they experience a flare up of any of their symptoms. The following sessions will anchor the process and make it an integral part of the individual's symptom management tool kit. The tenth and final session is an assessment of the entire program.

I experienced severe chronic pain that seemed unending. I was very depressed, and Paula's Guided Imagery helped me finally feel hope again that things will get better.
