Reiki is the Infinite Life Force Energy

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

Before making complementary medicine her focus, Sondra M. Buschmann’s work in fund raising and development spanned a variety of institutions and organizations - scientific, cultural, social and political - with an impact felt at national, state and local levels. Seventeen years ago, she extended her impact on the world to the field of complementary medicine when she founded the Tibetan Healing Center which was created to preserve and perpetuate the traditional wisdom of Tibetan medicine.

Cultures dating back to ancient times have had the wisdom and knowledge that an unseen energy flows through all living things, and is directly related to health by stimulating vitality and well being.

In addition to her work promoting Tibetan medicine, as a Reiki Master, Sondra extended the reach of Reiki in the San Diego community and beyond by offering trainings and providing treatments to individuals and groups. Her Reiki service to veterans in San Diego has been acknowledged both locally and nationally and working with vets remains a special passion for her. In her capacity as Reiki Master at the Tara Healing Center Sondra will continue to treat private patients and offer trainings to the public on a monthly basis. She welcomes any questions you may have.

REIKI
REIKI (pronounced "RAY-key") is a form of hands-on healing with origins traced back at least 2,500 years through writings in Japan, the Buddhist Sutras and Tibetan sacred texts. Cultures dating back to ancient times have had the wisdom and knowledge that an unseen energy flows through all living things, and is directly related to health by stimulating vitality and well being. The ability to channel this energy has been passed from practitioner to practitioner through training lineages, since Dr. Usui "rediscovered" it at the end of the 19th century in Japan.

Can anyone learn Reiki?

Yes, it is easy to learn and can be taught to anyone. Reiki is simple, easy, effective and safe. Reiki allows everyone to connect with this unlimited energy and to transmit it through the hands, to themselves and others, creating the space for improved health and enhanced quality of life.

REIKI I [Single Session]; 1 hour: $90

Wellness Pkg* 2 Sessions: $160

Will I be able to give myself Reiki?

Yes, and it can be extended to help others safely and effectively. In fact, Reiki may speed the physical and the emotional healing process. Reiki is most effective when the individual you are helping is a willing participant in his or her own healing process.

During a Reiki session, a client lies on a massage table, fully clothed.

A practitioner places his or her hands over several areas of the body that correspond to the energy centers near major organs. In this way, the healing energy of Reiki flows through all the main systems of the body. Most clients report feeling extremely relaxed and warm during the session. The Reiki energy can continue having positive effects for up to a week after a session. The effects of continued treatment range from prolonged relaxation to, in some cases, radical healing.

Our Center offers several different ways to experience Reiki:

A session with a practitioner; a distance healing done by a practitioner and later read to you either in person or on the phone; trainings where you are attuned to receive and transmit Reiki energy; and Reiki clinic at our San Diego Center.

Contact Hours for Nurses:

The California Board of Registered Nursing will award to nurses thirty (30) required units upon completion of Reiki I (fourteen contact hours) and Reiki II (sixteen contact hours). Our Continuing Education Provider Number is CEP 14130.

After the training, what support is available?

The Tara Healing Center has regular meetings in San Diego to provide Reiki practitioners an opportunity to practice Reiki, introduce Reiki to those who would like to experience Reiki, further our understanding of Reiki teachings, and provide an opportunity for healing. Hospice Services of San Diego welcomes Reiki practitioners giving Reiki as volunteers.
